Staithe Press is new. We haven’t published anything yet, but this year we have a grand plan to publish a book of short stories and poems to raise funds for Caister Lifeboat. Staithe Press UK, a new venture involving East Norfolk writers, is inviting submissions for a collection of original stories and poems set in Norfolk in aid of charity. We are delighted to be working with Caister Lifeboat, an independent lifeboat, whose volunteers have been saving lives since 1791. Their motto is Caister Men Never Turn Back. Indeed, 2026 marks 125 years since many of their crew were lost in the Beauchamp disaster.
We welcome short stories between 500 and 5000 words. Poems between 100 and 500 words. The theme is Norfolk, let the landscape, seascape, people, history and mystery be your inspiration.
No submission fee, but we hope all will join us by encouraging friends and family to purchase the finished book in aid of this worthwhile charity. All profits will go to the Lifeboat.
Submission date: June 30th 2026
Successful submissions will be notified by September 2026.
Publication date will hopefully be before Christmas 2026.
